Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between Social Stack Labs LLC (“Social Stack Labs,” “we,” “us,” “our”), a California limited liability company, and you.

By using this website, creating an account, or using any of our services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1) What these Terms cover

This website (socialstacklabs.com).

Covered in full by these Terms.

Sortie.

The Sortie mobile app, website, and related services. Covered in full by these Terms.

Case Study AI (caisestudy.com).

Operated by Social Stack Labs, but published under its own Terms of Service and Refund Policy at caisestudy.com. Those documents govern your use of Case Study AI and control if anything in them conflicts with these Terms. Section 5 below is a summary only, not a replacement.

In these Terms, “Service” means whichever of the above you are using.

2) Eligibility & Account

18+ only.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

Account & information.

Where a service offers accounts, provide accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

Account deletion.

You may delete your Sortie account anytime in Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Case Study AI does not use accounts; see its Privacy Policy for how to request deletion of an order.

3) Sortie — the service and your content

Purpose.

Sortie is an organizational tool and AI-assisted companion for managing contacts, notes, and scheduling related to dating. We do not operate a dating network, conduct background checks, or vet people you choose to meet.

Your content.

You own your content (e.g., names, notes, dates you enter). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, and process your content solely to provide and improve the Service.

AI suggestions.

The Service may generate AI-assisted text or insights based on your inputs. These may be inaccurate or inappropriate; you are solely responsible for how you use them. Do not rely on the Service for advice where harm could result.

Feedback.

You grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use feedback you provide to improve the Service.

4) Sortie — device permissions & integrations

Some features require your permission:

Calendar Sync (optional):

creates/updates events you initiate. You can disable in Settings at any time.

Contacts Import (optional):

imports a single contact you select to prefill details; we do not read your entire address book.

Microphone & Speech (optional):

for voice notes/transcription when you choose to record.

Notifications (optional):

sends reminders you request.

Third-party services:

Google Calendar and OS-level services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. You may disconnect integrations in Settings.

5) Case Study AI — summary

Case Study AI generates draft business deliverables — a presentation deck, a financial model, and a preparation brief — from the interview case prompt and materials you submit. It is automated and produces its outputs using AI.

Your use of Case Study AI is governed by the Terms of Service and Refund Policy published at caisestudy.com. In summary, and without replacing those documents:

• The deliverables are AI-generated drafts for your own preparation and use. They are not professional, financial, legal, investment, or career advice, and we do not guarantee any particular outcome, including interview or job results.
• You are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and editing the deliverables before relying on or presenting them.
• You must have the right to submit the materials you upload, and your submission must not breach any confidentiality agreement, NDA, employment agreement, or third-party right.
• You own your inputs and the specific deliverables generated for your order. We own the Service itself, including its templates, software, design, and branding.
• Because the deliverables are digital goods delivered on demand, all sales are final except where a generation fails — in which case you are entitled to a full refund. See the Refund Policy at caisestudy.com for details.

6) Acceptable use

Across all our services, you agree not to:

• Use the Service for illegal, harmful, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory conduct;
• Upload or share content you lack rights to or that violates others' privacy or confidentiality obligations;
• Attempt to scrape, decompile, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Service;
• Misrepresent identity or impersonate others;
• Use automated means without our prior written consent.

We may apply rate limits and file-size limits, and may suspend, terminate, or refuse service for violations or suspected abuse.

7) Safety; no background checks

Sortie does not screen or verify individuals you choose to meet. Use common-sense safety practices and comply with applicable laws. The Service is not a substitute for your judgment.

8) Software license & ownership

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use our apps and websites for your personal use. We and our licensors retain all rights in the Service, software, templates, design, branding, and content. Nothing in these Terms transfers our intellectual property to you. This license covers the software itself and does not restrict your use of deliverables generated for you by Case Study AI, which you own.

9) App Store-sourced software

If you downloaded one of our apps from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use is also governed by their standard terms (including the Apple Media Services Terms and the Apple Licensed Application EULA). The app provider (Apple/Google) is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for the Service.

10) Changes to the Services

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. If we make material changes that negatively affect your rights, we will provide reasonable notice.

11) Communications & electronic consent

By creating an account or placing an order, you consent to receive transactional communications (e.g., order confirmations, security notices, feature announcements). You can opt out of non-essential emails. For push notifications, you can disable them in device settings.

12) Fees & purchases

Case Study AI is a paid service; prices are shown at checkout and payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. If we offer paid features or subscriptions in Sortie in the future, pricing and terms will be disclosed at purchase; for in-app purchases through the App Store or Play Store, their payment terms apply.

13) Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for violations of these Terms, risk to the Service or its users, fraudulent or unlawful activity, or non-payment. Upon termination, your license ends and you must stop using the Service.

14) Disclaimers

THE SERVICE (INCLUDING AI-GENERATED OUTPUTS) IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

15) Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US $100 OR THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

16) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Social Stack Labs LLC, its affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law — including any claim that materials you uploaded breached a confidentiality obligation or third-party right.

17) Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at hello@socialstacklabs.com so we can try to resolve it informally. Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for misuse of intellectual property or breach of confidentiality.

18) Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use data for this website and Sortie. Case Study AI has its own Privacy Policy at caisestudy.com. By using a service, you consent to the data practices described in the policy that applies to it.

19) DMCA / copyright complaints

If you believe content infringes your rights, contact us with: (a) description of the work, (b) location of the material, (c) your contact info, (d) a statement of good-faith belief, (e) a statement under penalty of perjury of accuracy and authority, and (f) your physical or electronic signature.

20) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice (e.g., in-app or by email). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

21) Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement:

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us for the services they cover. For Case Study AI, its own Terms, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy are the entire agreement.

Severability:

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

Assignment:

You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them as part of a corporate transaction.

No waiver:

Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

Force Majeure:

We aren't liable for delays beyond our reasonable control.
